Teach what you learn

What have you learned that has helped you? Teach it, share it because it might help someone else. You gain absolutely nothing from withholding information and you probably do yourself a disservice. If you know something that might help someone else further along on their journey, share it. In his wonderful book Show Your Work, Austin Kleon said ''Teaching people doesn't subtract value from what you do, it actually adds to it. When you teach someone how to do your work, you are in effect generating more interest in your work. People feel closer to your work because you're letting them in on what you know''.

Austin (not Austin Kleon) who is a Music Manager at the BBC consistently gives practical and helpful tips and advice to artists via his twitter page. He shares what he knows. I have learned a lot from him simply because he shared information on twitter. He was also kind and gracious enough to invite me to his office where he gave me even more tips on a one to one.

Artist Manager Kwame Kwaten through the Ultimate Seminar which he organizes every year, teaches what he has learned and shares what he knows. He also brings people from different parts of the music industry together to share their knowledge.

I started my Two Minute Motivation videos because I wanted to share ideas and quotes that have helped me. I love inspirational quotes and they have helped me pursue my dreams and not give up so I share these quotes and ideas because I believe they can also help other people.

So go ahead, teach what you learn, share what you know. Be helpful, be useful, we are all in this together.
