Anything is possible if you can just commit to it. There were days when I did not feel like writing however I just wrote anyway. I did not try to judge if it was good or bad writing. I just let the words flow on the page.
I like to Rhyme but sometimes I did not and that is okay. Most of these songs would never be heard and that is okay. Some of the songs might be rubbish but that is okay. The most important thing is that I wrote and I am getting better by writing. I have also listened back to about 300 of them and I am very happy with over 10 percent of them and would be sharing some of them with the world soon. That is over 30 songs that I would not have had if I did not decide to start writing everyday.
You must simplify. One day at a time. Do not try to do too much. Make it easy for yourself so you have no excuse not to write.
You have a choice, make the decision and start now.
]]>Austin (not Austin Kleon) who is a Music Manager at the BBC consistently gives practical and helpful tips and advice to artists via his twitter page. He shares what he knows. I have learned a lot from him simply because he shared information on twitter. He was also kind and gracious enough to invite me to his office where he gave me even more tips on a one to one.
Artist Manager Kwame Kwaten through the Ultimate Seminar which he organizes every year, teaches what he has learned and shares what he knows. He also brings people from different parts of the music industry together to share their knowledge.
I started my Two Minute Motivation videos because I wanted to share ideas and quotes that have helped me. I love inspirational quotes and they have helped me pursue my dreams and not give up so I share these quotes and ideas because I believe they can also help other people.
So go ahead, teach what you learn, share what you know. Be helpful, be useful, we are all in this together.
]]>Make it a habit to say please and thank you and watch how people would respond positively to you and your requests.
]]>Do not be afraid to express yourself. You have a voice, use it. Someone somewhere could listen to you simply because of the way you express yourself. He or she might even benefit from your self expression. So go on and express yourself. Do not let fear stop you. We are all afraid however the people who go on to do things are the ones that know that fear is just an illusion. They act despite the fear.
]]>You do not need to do 100 things today. That is not sustainable and would lead to burnout. Take one little action daily and after 1 year or 5 years you would find that those daily action steps have turned you into a pro.
So ask yourself, what do I want? Now take a little action every day towards achieving it. Be consistent and you would be amazed at what you would accomplish in 5 years (or 10).
